World Environment Day June 5th

(June 5th), make a promise to yourself!

Paper Saving Tips:

1. Make hard copies only when necessary. Use soft copies.

2. Stop Printing if you can, read online, and order catalogues, newsletter online instead.

3. Print on both sides, wherever printer allows.

4. Use the back side of old paper for scratch pads

5. Where possible, use email or the phone rather than letters.

6. Send emails to colleagues rather than using post-it notes. An email isn't likely to fall off a monitor or get lost on a desk.

7. Keep to-do lists on your computer, perhaps in a spreadsheet so that you can tick the tasks off as you complete them. This means that you don't have to print the list off, and won't lose it. If you use reminders, why not let your computer or phone remind you, rather than using written notes.

8. Preview documents before printing. Proofread documents on screen before printing. Don't forget to use the spell check/grammar function to detect errors.

9. Print only the pages you need. You just got back that 20-page report you wrote and there are changes to make on pages 2, 3, 4, 7, and 15. After making the changes, do you print out the whole document? If yes, consider instead printing only the pages you need.

10. Don’t “print and forget” – don’t forget to collect your printout!
